A training app you can use with gloves on.
Velocity is a coaching app for amateur cyclists. Riders use it before, during and after training, often outdoors, in bright light and on the move.
Challenge
The previous interface relied on small text and precise taps, which failed on the bike. Riders ignored in-ride guidance because it was too hard to read.
Approach
I designed an interface system around large touch targets, high contrast and a strict information hierarchy, with a separate ride mode that shows only one number at a time.
Result
Completion of guided sessions increased by a third. The component library now supports three platforms from one set of rules.
